FMS represented at MONEYVAL's high-level meeting
On 25 April, Ministers and high-level officials responsible for anti-money laundering policies from 35 MONEYVAL members and territories met in Warsaw to discuss the role of MONEYVAL in taking action against money laundering, terrorist and proliferation financing, crimes that impact our society and threaten the rule of law, democratic governance and the integrity of the financial system.
The meeting discussed fundamental problems and threats related to AML/CFT in the region, MONEYVAL's strategic measures against such problems. The representatives reviewed the strategy covering 2023-2027 and confirmed MONEYVAL’s priorities with a high-level declaration.
Also, at the summit, high-level representatives of the Council of Europe, FATF, European Commission and the Parties to the Council of Europe Convention "On Laundering, Search, Seizure and Confiscation of the Proceeds from Crime and on the Financing of Terrorism " was attended.
It should be noted that the meeting in this context is held for the first time in the history of MONEYVAL and reflects the increasing importance and necessity of combating the financing of terrorism.
